ARTIST BIO
Clark Stamm is an artist, musician, and nature boy recently moved to Kewaskum from Milwaukee, WI, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at UW-Milwaukee for Drawing & Painting and a love of Art History. His studies took him abroad to Florence, Italy where he studied Egg Tempera Painting and Renaissance Art History at Santa Reparata International School of Art. Today, Stamm’s creative hands-on projects are focused on carving wood, bone, stone, and brick, and the occasional canvas or panel painting. Other days he is on the computer creating digital art and design for Lakefront Brewery and Bridget Center of Wisconsin, where he is an active member of the Sociocratic Mission Circle as Acting Director. Clark has been working at Three Sisters Organic CSA Farm, where he is a general farmhand planting, weeding, harvesting, packaging, and delivering top-quality produce since summer 2022. As of winter 2023, he has been working with Native Niche, a Native Habitat Restoration Company, doing invasive species treatment and removal, and prescribed burns, and learning so much about ecosystems and the various flora and fauna within them. Music is an important part of Stamm’s life as well. He has been playing drums with Mortgage Freeman, a Milwaukee progressive rock group, since their debut in 2011.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I love thinking about the dualistic nature of our universe– how every beginning has an end, the spectrum of love and fear-based realities in our minds, and how there is harmonious order within the chaos. There is a mysterious connection between all matter as it vibrates through space and time on a micro and macro scale. We are individuals but we are also each integral parts of a greater Oneness. I aim to explore that bond we have with the natural and supernatural world because it has been my personal reassurance that I am not alone, and that everyone and everything is a part of me.
